Dr. Amanda Israel

Dr. Amanda Israel MD FRCPC is a gastroenterologist at Michael Garron Hospital. She completed her medical school at the University of British Columbia and internal medicine and gastroenterology residencies at the University of Ottawa.  She is passionate about providing comprehensive care for IBD patients and subsequently completed her IBD fellowship at the University of Chicago Hospital. She has presented her work at international conferences and co-authored over 10 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Israel has a strong interest in medical education and fostering the training of future physicians. Currently through the University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public, she is completing the Masters of Science in Community Health: Health Practitioner Teacher Education program. She is using these skills she is working to build her local GI program.
